Antyodaya Ration Card
The Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY) Ration Card is given to the poorest families. These families have no fixed source of income. These families are mostly jobless or have temporary jobs.
Labors, Jobless People, and Old Aged persons come under this category. Families having an income of 250 rupees per month are eligible for this Antyodaya Ration Card.
These families will get 20 kg of wheat @2 Rs/Kg and 15 kg of rice @3 Rs/kg along with subsidies on other essential items.
BPL Ration Card
Below Poverty Line (BPL) Ration Card is issued to those families who come under the BPL category. These ration cards can be of blue, red, yellow, and green color according to different states.
In rural areas, families with a maximum income of 6400 rupees per annum are eligible for BPL Ration Card.
Similarly, in urban areas, families with a maximum income of 11,850 rupees per annum are eligible for BPL Ration Card.
APL Ration Card
Above Poverty Line (APL) Ration Card is issued to those families whose income is more than BPL category families. Families with no government jobs as well as non-income taxpayers are eligible for APL Ration Card. This card is of orange color in rural areas and pink color in Urban Areas.
In rural areas, families with an income of more than 6400 rupees per annum are eligible for APL Ration Card.
In Urban areas, families with an income of more than 11,850 rupees per annum are eligible for APL Ration Card.
White Ration Card
The White Ration Card is issued to those families who are financially strong. They do not require a subsidy on food items and goods.
This card is basically used as identity and residence proof. However, in some states and districts, the state government is providing 5 Kg of rice to White Ration Card Holder.

Eligibility Criteria to Apply Ration Card
If you want to apply for a ration card online or offline you have to fulfill the required eligibility criteria that are provided below.
- The applicant should be a citizen of India.
- The applicant should be a minimum of 18 years old.
- You can apply for only one ration card.
- You should not hold any ration card in your state or any other state before.
- There must be a close relationship between the applicant and the members on the ration card.

Documents Required To Apply Ration Card

How To Apply Ration Card Offline?
There are different ways to apply for a ration card offline. In rural areas, you can visit gram panchayat and provide all the required documents and apply for the ration card.
Similarly, in urban areas, you have to visit Tehsil Office, Ward Commissioner, District Office, and Nagar Panchayat Office and provide your details and apply for the ration card.
